I’ve been fairly inactive in amateur radio since my daughter was born several years ago, but I recently started picking it back up a bit. A little over a year ago though, I noticed that the callsign K6NL was set to expire as it’s previous owner became a silent key, so I had tossed my name into the pervertible hat. Looks like luck was on my side, and I was able to get it assigned to me. It was very serendipitous as my original FCC assigned call was KK6NLW – thus I was able to drop the first and last characters. I recently dusted off my old QSL card and fixed it up with the callsign change. I’m looking forward to getting back on the air more in 2026 and do a little dxing.
